Abruzzo weather forecast Wednesday 26 June 2024: residual unstable conditions in the next few hours with scattered clouds, showers and thunderstorms but from Thursday the weather will generally improve and temperatures will rise
SITUATION. Our peninsula continues to be influenced by the presence of a nucleus of fresh air of Atlantic origin which, starting from the next few hours, will further tend to move towards the east, favoring a gradual improvement in atmospheric conditions which will manifest itself above all starting from tomorrow , Thursday, due to the rise of a high pressure promontory of North African origin which will also favor a new general increase in temperatures and the rise of suspended dust/sand at altitude at least until Sunday. In the next few hours, however, conditions of instability will continue to manifest themselves also in our central regions, with cloud cover, showers and the possibility of thunderstorms, developing along the Apennine ridge but extending towards the Adriatic sector, especially in the second half of the day, while from a gradual improvement in atmospheric conditions is expected in the evening which will continue on Thursday.
FORECAST. In our region, initial conditions of partially cloudy or cloudy skies are expected with possible scattered precipitation, especially in the Pescarese and Chieti areas, temporarily easing in the morning but the trend is towards a new gradual increase in cloud cover in the internal and mountainous areas, starting from late morning, with showers and possible thunderstorms, extending towards the foothills and hilly areas overlooking the Adriatic side but with possible encroachment towards the coastal areas. A gradual attenuation of cloudiness and phenomena is expected from the evening with an improvement in atmospheric conditions which will continue throughout the day on Thursday.
TEMPERATURES. Generally stationary but the trend is towards a new gradual increase starting from Thursday.
WINDS. Weak western ones on the internal and mountainous areas, eastern or north-eastern ones along the coastal strip with possible reinforcements. Strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms cannot be ruled out.
SEA. Slightly rough or locally rough.
