It seems that the ‘ordeal’ of the Marsala people is about to end, at least for what has happened in recent days regarding the supply of water to homes. We dealt with the lack of water resources in relation to the theft of electrical cables already last weekend when, following a theft of systems that draw water from the Sinubio wells, the Municipality of Marsala was forced to slow down the delivery throughout the territory and particularly in the urban centre. The water opening – as we were informed by the Municipality – had been reduced by 50%.

There are many reports that have come from citizens, mainly from those who suddenly found themselves without water. Consider that in recent weeks, due to repeated failures of the primary pipeline, the people of Marsala were almost all left stranded. And in times of drought, theft and breakdowns of water pipes cause even more inconvenience.

Regarding the restoration of normality, after yet another interruption, we heard from the branch councilor Ivan Gerardi: “Municipal technicians and workers have been busy working for several days – he told us -, while as far as our offices are concerned, we have done our utmost to find the necessary material to restore electricity to the systems. We have also formalized the necessary complaints for the damage that the City has suffered. We had invited a parsimonious use of water reserves, thus avoiding consuming water for uses other than drinking and hygiene. Now the offices tell me – continues the councilor – that the work has been completed recently. Once the appropriate tests have been carried out, the water will be supplied starting today at full capacity”.
