Countdown to “Puccini according to Muti, the extraordinary concert that will take place on Friday evening at Campo Balilla, immersed in the majestic stage offered by the Walls. Maestro Riccardo Muti will celebrate the genius of Giacomo Puccini by conducting the “Cherubini” Orchestra, exceptionally formed, on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of its foundation, by 130 musicians who will accompany the performances of the opera singers. The extraordinary event is part of the Puccini Celebrations calendar, it was also announced from the stage of the Verona arena, and will be broadcast worldwide.

A maxi event that will remain in history and which inevitably involves some limitations. In particular, the Santa Maria rampart will be closed from 12pm tomorrow to 8am on Saturday 29 June. From 2pm tomorrow until 6am on Saturday the Carducci car park will be closed. From 2pm tomorrow until 6am on Saturday, Viale Carducci (from the Viale Europa roundabout towards the east), Viale della Repubblica, Viale Cavour (from Viale Carducci to Piazzale Risorgimento) will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic and parking will be banned; parking ban with removal in Piazzale Risorgimento which will be temporarily reopened to traffic on the west and east sides. A section of the walk on the Walls between the San Paolino and Santa Maria bastions will be closed to pedestrian traffic from 2pm tomorrow to 3am on Saturday, and from 2pm on Saturday to 3am on Sunday. Finally, from 8am on Friday until the end of the concert, parking is prohibited in the car park in the Cittadella structure reserved for the organisation.

Closure of the eastern pre-filtering area and Porta San Pietro – from 6am on Friday until no later than 3am on Saturday with a ban on parking and removal and from 8am a ban on transit in viale Cavour (between piazzale Risorgimento and via Montanara), viale Regina Margherita (between via della Repubblica and via Montanara), piazzale Umberto I, piazzale Risorgimento. On the same dates and times, vehicular transit from Porta San Pietro and Piazzale Umberto I is prohibited.

Viale Europa overpass and western safety zone: The area that includes the Viale Europa overpass, the stretch of Viale Carducci from the roundabout to Piazzale Boccherini, Via Nieri and Viale Carducci, used for the exit of the public at the end of the concert , traffic will be closed for the period of time from 6pm tomorrow until the complete outflow of spectators no later than 3am on Saturday. In this period, traffic coming from the motorway toll booth and heading to the northern part of the ring road and to Sant’Anna will be diverted onto the variant connecting with the Lucca Ovest toll booth in via delle Città Gemelle.

Residents and Metro parking subscribers: Until 10am on Saturday, free parking for residents holding parking permits of categories A1, A2 and A3 in the blue parking areas (for a fee) in piazzale Verdi, via del Pallone, via della Caserma, in Corso Garibaldi, via del Molinetto and via del Peso with permitted exhibition. From 7am on Friday to 10am on Saturday, holders of A8-A9 permits (non-resident garages) and temporary permits and permits with obligatory routes with access from the gates of Corso Garibaldi and via Carrara est will be able to access from Porta Elisa, via Elisa (gate gate San Gervasio) via del Fosso – Corso Garibaldi; to exit Corso Garibaldi, via del Peso, via Carrara (east passage), via della Rosa, via dell’Angelo Custode, via della Fratta, via della Zecca, Porta Santa Maria).
