The 17-year-old nephew of the 65-year-old Peruvian nurse was arrested for voluntary manslaughter found lifeless around 5pm on Monday in her apartment in via Niccolò da Tolentino, in the Careggi district of Florence. He had a partnera musician but in this period he was traveling for concerts.
Contradictory story
The nephew initially told the police that he had found a stranger inside the apartment upon his return in the night and having engaged in a fight with him who then ran away, then found his grandmother dead in her bed. The 17-year-old’s story immediately appeared contradictory and hence his summons to the police station; first, however, he had been taken to hospital for treatment wounds he had on his face. Subsequently he was taken to the police station to be interviewed, then he was arrested.
