Copparo. A water bomb on the capital caused major inconvenience and major flooding in the city streets. It was a sudden downpour that is still difficult to quantify in terms of millimeters of rain that fell, which occurred in the afternoon and added to the one (of lighter intensity) which occurred in the morning. In reality the situation, already at 6.30 pm, began to improve thanks to the end of the rain and the outflow of water from the sewers.
Some streets like XX Settembre seem to have had a rapid outflow of water while others, like via I Maggio, via Matteotti, via Primicello and via Colombo are still flooded. A situation that does not appear to depend on the need for work on the sewerage system (already discussed with Cads) but on the intensity of the precipitation which made the outflow extremely complex.
The most affected area would have been the capital itself, while there were no reports from the hamlets. In particular, the two most affected areas were those around the aforementioned Via Primicello as well as a secondary road, Via Riviera, where heavy rainfall caused a landslide already cordoned off by civil protection while waiting for the Land Reclamation Consortium to restore the bank. .
In addition to the civil protection and Mayor Pagnoni, the firefighters and the police were also immediately on site to monitor the flow of water and manage a difficult situation. Difficulties caused by flooded roads with consequent traffic problems but also by infiltrations into homes.
At this moment a detailed census of damage or critical situations is being carried out. At the moment it does not appear that there is any damage to the electricity and telephone networks but, even in this case, we will have to wait for the outcome of the monitoring.
