Bolzano explosion: day of mourning for Diallo

BOLZANO, 24 JUNE – The mayor of Bolzano Renzo Caramaschi has announced that the municipal council has decided to call a day of city mourning to remember the worker Bocar Diallo, who tragically died following the injuries sustained in the very serious workplace accident which occurred at Aluminum in an industrial area. The City flags will be hoisted at half-mast on all municipal buildings and a minute’s silence will be observed on a day that will be indicated in the next few hours, i.e. in conjunction with the funeral ceremony. The mayor, in addition to offering his deepest condolences to Diallo’s family, relatives and friends and acquaintances, also wanted to express on behalf of the municipal administration and the City “all, utmost closeness and support to the injured and severely burned victims involved in the explosion”. “The City of Bolzano – said Caramaschi – was deeply shocked by the serious accident at Alluminium which involved 6 workers employed in the factory, one of whom unfortunately died. To express our pain and the solidarity of the entire community with the victims, we have decided to proclaim city mourning to coincide with the day on which the funeral ceremony will take place”.
