Corriere dello Sport: “Palermo in a bunker with Nikolaou”

Today’s edition of “Il Corriere dello Sport” focuses on Palermo who would have closed for Nikolaou.

Palermo is pushing for Dimitrios Nikolaou, who could soon become the first official reinforcement of the new season: there is also the need to give Dionisi a squad modeled at least in broad terms from the first days of training camp, when three players will be missing in defense (Nedelcearu, Diakitè and Lund, who are still playing with the national teams, will join in a second period). The agreement with the Greek central defender seems close, Palermo will take him over permanently, considering that Nikolaou has recently extended it until 2027; the player, who played 34 games for Spezia this year, has given his consent and would reunite with Dionisi with whom he played in Empoli.

The deal is worth around 2 million euros, but it is not necessarily linked to the simultaneous negotiations that would bring Soleri and Aurelio to Spezia. The Ligurians are really interested in Soleri but a possible transfer (on loan with the right to buy) could follow independent paths. And then Palermo cannot remain too exposed in the attacking department, where, with Mancuso gone (De Sanctis and Dionisi have confirmed that the player, who returned to Monza at the end of his loan, will not return), only Brunori and the baby Corona remain, in addition to a group of wingers. Cesena also likes Aurelio (24).
