Corrado Di Taranto has terminated the contract that tied him to Spal and is therefore now free to tie himself to Cesena. The new general manager should be made official by Cavalluccio as early as Monday. The general manager is precisely the figure that was missing at Cesena where, until now, the only point of reference had been the sports director Fabio Artico, since the ownership is in America. The position in the staff relating to the general manager has been vacant since Daniele Martini resigned at the end of January 2022. Di Taranto has a degree in Economics and Business Management, therefore he has a specific preparation, he was general secretary of Chievo, operational director of Parma and finally before arriving in Ferrara he worked as general manager of Trento. Prepared, already an expert in the role, knowledgeable of the mechanisms that govern the management of a sports club. He has already spent a few days in Cesena, the new dg has already been in the city and now has close contact with Artico. In essence he has already started working for Cavalluccio. However, he had to define the termination of the contract with Spal and all this happened on Thursday, the very day that the new coach Michele Mignani was presented. Now, all that remains is to define the team that will play in the next B championship. A championship completely different from the one just won by Cesena and which will require players of the category. Speaking of the market, the Mattia Maita operation is getting complicated, a favourite of Mignani and a player highly esteemed by Artico. Bari, however, does not seem to want to give him up and indeed considers the midfielder a fundamental piece of the team. “He has a contract with us until 2026, we have already called him up for the retreat – explained the sports director of the Apulians Giuseppe Magalini -, for us he is an important player. No one from Cesena has come forward and not even the agent has told us anything. Now, we will have to understand how much Cesena will really want to try to make a move to make him available to Mignani. In defense, they are following the Croatian defender Stipe Vulikic, 23 years old, 31 games and a goal last season in C with Perugia, in Italy since 2022, discovered in Dragovoljac.
