The Municipality of Ancona posted a public notice this morning for the acquisition of an expression of interest from companies for the registration of the football team representing the municipality of Ancona in an amateur championship for the 2024-2025 sports season. The notice follows the well-known events, which led to the failure of the procedures for the Club’s registration in the Serie C Lega PRO Championship for the upcoming 2024/2025 football season. The municipal administration intends with this act identify a new legal entity that carries out sporting activities on behalf of the City and ensures continuity in the maintenance and care of the youth sector, as well as the development of a strategy for the return to the higher divisions.
In fact, the deadlines for the registration of the main football team of the city of Ancona in the inter-regional Serie D championship of the National Amateur League (LND) for the next 2024/2025 season have not yet passed, as well as, subordinately, in the Regional Championship of Excellence. It also came from the FIGC a note with which the Federation communicates that it can grant the opportunity, based on the relevant rules, to register a company representing the Municipality in an amateur championship. The administrative process started today sets the deadline for submitting expressions of interest at 9:00 am on July 1st, in order to allow compliance with the deadline for filing the documentation set by the FIGC for 6.00 pm on 4 July 2024.
All subjects who intend to express their interest must formalize their will by filing a written declaration, addressed to the Municipality of Ancona and sent exclusively by certified email to [email protected]. The documentation specifically described in the document, published today in full on the online noticeboard of the Municipality of Ancona, must be attached to the expression of interest. Among other things, it will be necessary: not to have held, in the last 5 years, the role of partner, director and/or manager with powers of representation at the federal level, in companies subject to measures of exclusion from the relevant championship or revocation of the affiliation to the FIGC; not having been convicted, with a final sentence, of imprisonment for non-negligent crimes punished with a maximum statutory sentence of no less than 5 years; not having had criminal convictions for fraud, aggravated fraud to obtain public funds, usury, embezzlement, money laundering, fraudulent bankruptcy or abusive use of credit; not having been involved in football scandals. It will also be necessary to: be eligible to hold positions in football clubs according to FIGC regulations; not be in a state of bankruptcy, liquidation, composition with creditors, receivership.
The notice requires the three-year plan of sporting activities, with particular reference to the organization and management of the main team, including the strategy for the return to the higher divisions, and the organization and management of the youth sector and the women’s sector. Only in the case of proposals to register for the Interregional Serie D Championship, the budget allocated to the management of the youth sector, equal to at least 150 thousand euros, must be indicated. Finally, a declaration of willingness to initiate discussions with the municipal administration is required for the use and valorisation of the municipally owned area located in Passo Varano, near the Conero Stadium, intended for sports equipment, consistently with the rule of law of the place and with the destination lastly imprinted with a resolution of the City Council adopted in October 2023.
The Institution will proceed, at its sole discretion, with the evaluation of the proposals received, verifying their completeness and adequacy, for the purposes of accreditation. Only in the absence of proposals for the team’s registration in the Interregional Serie D Championship will proposals for registration in the Regional Excellence Championship be taken into consideration.. The Municipality of Ancona undertakes to grant free use of the “AC ANCONA” brand, of which it is the owner, after consulting the “Save the Brands” fan committee. The Committee will also be consulted to identify the name, which must in any case refer to the city of Ancona. The Municipality is also committed to make the Stadio Del Conero sports facility available to the city’s main football teamof which he is the owner, upon payment of the tariff in the amount established by the municipal council.
