The first stage of the 38th edition of Goletta Verde 2024, the historic summer campaign of Legambiente which from 28 June to 13 August will sail along the Peninsula to monitor the state of health of the sea and the Italian coasts, begins from Liguria, from La Spezia. Water purification, protection of biodiversity, sustainable energy and the fight against the climate crisis and illegalities will be the main themes at the center of Goletta Verde. The campaign will have Anev, Conou, Novamont and Renexia as partners, and the media partnership of La Nuova Ecologia.
The Ligurian stage, scheduled from 28 to 30 June, will be full of events ranging from educational workshops to meetings with fishermen and mussel farmers, from insights into electric boating and the critical issues of the gulf to aperitifs with live music, passing through the delivery of the 5 sails to the Municipalities of the Cinque Terre.
The Goletta Verde will be moored in La Spezia at the Assonautica Port, Morin promenade on the west side, from 28 to 30 June.
The first day of the stop in La Spezia – Friday 28 June at 9.45am – will open with the press tour organized as part of the Life Muscles project to raise awareness of sustainable mussel farming. Among the other key events, the meeting “Electric boating: an environmental choice and a job opportunity”. The vision of the 5 Lands and the impact on the territory”. This will be followed at 12.00 by the award ceremony of the five sails to the Municipalities. The press conference in Genoa to present the data on the monitoring of Ligurian waters, at Blue District via del Molo, will be held on Monday 1 July at 10.30am.

We invite all citizens to come and see the Goletta and follow our initiatives. To the people of La Spezia I highlight the initiatives on Saturday, in the morning on electric boats and in the afternoon on the numerous problems of the Gulf”, comments Stefano Bigliazzi, president of Legambiente Liguria.
In this 2024 edition, Legambiente’s SOS Goletta service returns to report anomalous discharges, suspicious spots or pollution along the coasts and beaches of your territory by filling out the appropriate form on the dedicated page.
