Treviso, the reconstruction of Ponte Ottavi begins: a 2 million project and a year of work | Today Treviso | News

TREVISO – Monday 1st July will begin renovation works on the Ottavi bridge. The work will be carried out by the Brussi Company and will have a total cost of 2 million euros (one million from regional funding, 500 thousand from RFI and 500 thousand from municipal funds) and will last approximately one year, divided, as far as traffic is concerned, into two different phases.

The first phase will last two months, from 1 July to the end of August, and will involve the maintenance of two-way traffic in via Ottavi and the complete closure of the stretch of via Plinio il Vecchio overlooking via Ottavi. All works compatible with the presence of the old bridge will be carried out, including the demolition of fences and the moving of existing underground services. During this phase it may be necessary to occasionally manage the alternating one-way traffic on via Ottavi via movieri.

In the second phase, from the end of August 2024 to the end of June 2025, the demolition of the existing bridge and the reconstruction of the infrastructure as envisaged in the project will take place. In all phases of the construction site, accessibility to workers and residents will always be guaranteed. “The renovation of the Ottavi bridge is a particularly important work and will involve some changes to the road system – the words of thecouncilor for Public Works, Sandro Zampese – In any case, every measure and method useful for reducing times, limiting noise and warning motorists of the presence of the construction site with appropriate vertical signage will be adopted”.

“This is a fundamental and strategic work not only because it will guarantee a wider passage but also dedicated cycle and pedestrian lanes”, the words of the Mayor Conte – We thank the Veneto Region and RFI who financed a project that was particularly felt by the citizens of Sant’Angelo and San Giuseppe and which will be preparatory to the construction of the underpasses of Viale Cacciatori and Via Benzi, fundamental for resolving a road junction in our city” .
