Governor Roberto Occhiuto announces the arrival of Uber in Calabria: «it is a further possibility to attract tourism and to develop our territory».
CATANZARO – The Uber mobility application, present in over 10 thousand cities around the world, officially arrives in Calabria. From today, 25 June 2024, it will be possible to use the Uber Black and Uber Van mobility services in the Region, in the airports and in the main tourist areas. A first fleet of cars will be active immediately. In the coming weeks and months it will be gradually increased with new vehicles and new drivers. Therefore, the famous black sedans of Uber Black and the more spacious Uber Vans will be active in Calabria. Both operated by Calabrian car owners and holders of NCC (rental with driver) authorizations.

IN CALABRIA, UBER BLACK: CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SERVICE
The Uber Black and Uber Van service (the latter with cars capable of accommodating up to 6 passengers) is operated by NCC operators. And, users of the Uber app benefit from several features, such as the ability to get information about the driver. And also the car model and knowing the price of the trip in advance, dividing the cost of the trip, viewing the route of your journey. Thanks to the anonymization system, passengers and drivers can get in touch by phone or via chat without sharing their phone number. As well as the ability to access Uber’s safety toolkit and get assistance if you need it. In addition to the comfort and elegance of black sedans, Uber Black provides passengers with the ability to select their preferences in advance regarding luggage to carry on board, how to speak with the driver and the temperature inside the vehicle.
Finally, further features such as Guest Ride have recently been added to the service, i.e. the possibility of booking a car for an acquaintance, relative or friend.
