Sergio Perez comments on qualifying for the 2024 Austrian Grand Prix, which ended in eighth position

“I don’t know where it happened, but unfortunately we got to Q3 and we didn’t have new tyres” commented Sergio Perez to the media, including AutoMoto.it. “There was a margin, I think it was four tenths with Lando and it was the result of the new set of softs, unfortunately, and with our strategy we only had four available.; so, yes, we paid the price a bit, also because Q1 was more difficult than our expectations. “Since the first and only free practice session I had problems with braking and it’s something we need to improve. Other than that, I mean, when you look at the times, two to three tenths, life is very different. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the most out of qualifying in terms of tyre usage, but we’ll see how it goes tomorrow in comparison with the Mercedes and Ferraris because the race will be long.. I would also add compared to last year we have had improvements in terms of track limits with the addition of gravel” commented the Mexican from Red Bull.
