The assembly of Federconsumatori della Toscana unanimously elected Laura Grandi as president of the organization today in Florence (at the headquarters of CGIL Toscana). The newly elected, 58 year old, Florentine, with a degree in Political Science, was general secretary of the Sunia Federation of Florence and Tuscany for two terms. She will have the task of guiding the regional organization in the coming years, which will be difficult and full of challenges, especially as regards the fate of families, with incomes being ‘eroded’ by uncontrolled increases in primary needs, while the number of ‘poor’ workers and pensioners is growing.
Thanks went to the outgoing secretary Luca D’Onofrio from the regional assembly (where Michele Carrus, national president of Federconsumatori, Rossano Rossi, general secretary of CGIL Toscana, and Gessica Beneforti of the CGIL Toscana secretariat were present) for the work carried out and best wishes for future tasks.

In this period of difficulty in Tuscany, the Federconsumatori is waging a tough battle on two fronts: to affirm the defense and relaunch of consumer rights and to tackle the jungle of the market with suitable tools, for the protection of citizens, in a phase difficult situation in which rights are canceled while family income is slowing down and worrying pockets of poverty are growing”, are the first words of Laura Grandi as new president of Federconsumatori Toscana.
