It all started around 2am between Sunday and Monday: Luca Ricci went down to his parents’ apartment in Fano to take his mother’s blood pressure and started discussing money with her. He first strangled the woman and then killed her father with a hammer.

He collapsed after many hours of interrogation Luca Riccithe fifty-year-old worker who confessed to killing his elderly parents in their home in Fano. He reconstructed the hours preceding the double murder and also provided a motive before the prosecutor Maria Letizia Fucci.
It all happened in the night between Sunday and Monday, when Luisa Marconi, 70, called her son who lives upstairs because she wasn’t feeling well. “My mother wasn’t well, I went down to take her blood pressure”Ricci would have said, reconstructing what happened.

Luca Ricci goes down to his parents’ apartment and approaches his mother in the kitchen, but he starts arguing with her about money: “I needed it, he told me enough.” And after her mother’s refusal to give him money (her parents had had to sell their house due to her debts) he would have strangled her by tightening a cord or an electrician’s wire when she collapsed.

Then it was the turn of his 75-year-old father, Giuseppe Ricci. The fifty-year-old apparently went into his parents’ bedroom with a hammer, which the firefighters found in a well in the garden behind the house: the elderly man, half asleep, attempted to defend himself, but he repeatedly hit him on the head until to kill him. Then the man would return to his home, where his eighteen-year-old son was also sleeping and who would not have noticed anything.

In the morning at around 8, Ricci accompanies his son to school for credit recovery courses and then returns to Fano. After a while he raises the alarm saying that his parents are not responding and the door is locked from inside. The firefighters arrive and find the two lifeless bodies. Whoever investigates immediately decides to question him, but he initially denies any responsibility. Then it finally collapses.
“Yes, I killed my parents, I had other debts but they didn’t want to give me more money”, the confession after hours of interrogation. Luca Ricci was stopped during the night and taken to prison in Pesaro: he will have to answer for double murder aggravated by cruelty and kinship.
