Travel agencies, Sicily is the trendiest destination in Italy

The tourists who book in are in love with southern Italy travel agency. This is confirmed by an internal survey by Fiavet-Confcommerciowhich sees Sicily, Sardinia, Puglia, Campania, Calabria, Basilicata and the smaller islands at the top of the ranking.

In detail, 42% of Fiavet-Confcommercio agencies have summer bookings for Sicilyfollow the Sardinia at 40%, Puglia at 39% and Calabria at 26%. Campania also did well with 17% of preferences, considering that as many as 14% choose it to visit Amalfi Coast.

Seaside holiday destinations also include those in the centre, among which stands out Tuscanywhich collects 5% of tourist packages, in particular inArgentario. In the ranking of the best-selling tourist products, there is no shortage of Rimini and Riccione (2.89%), Marche, Riviera di Ulisse nel Lazio and Abruzzo. In great prominence, as always, the cities of art: Rome And Florence they reach 12% of the preferences, followed by Venice at 8.7%.

As for the mountains, the favorite destination is the Trentino with 2.8% of packages sold, followed by Valle d’Aosta And Valtellina, in Lombardy. The percentage of lake tourism enthusiasts remains strong, who above all choose the Lombardy lakes, especially Garda.

As regards, however, the Mediterraneanthe most popular product concerns the Cruises. Also for this summer, a positive trend for Greece and Spain, with Portugal re-emerging. In Greece and Spain people are looking for lesser-known and less expensive destinations. There is renewed interest inAlbania, but lower than 2023, again due to the increase in costs. Good performances Sharm El Sheikh compared to the rest of Egypt, which is suffering a setback.

«The great classics of our tourism do not seem to change – observes President Fiavet, Giuseppe Ciminnisi – Tourism this year will perhaps suffer even less from the effects of inflation, but it is undeniable that the purchasing power it has changed post-pandemic, like people’s choices. The organized tourism it is, even more than before, a safe option, especially for families, but the typology holiday: it is shorter, costs are cut and environmental and social sustainability is increasingly sought in structures, destinations and means of transport”.
