The Milan Financial Police seized movable and immovable assets, financial assets and cash for over 3.5 million euros. The economic-financial investigations arose from further investigations conducted by the Fiamme Gialle on some subjects who remained at large following the operation which, last October, led to the execution of 46 precautionary custody orders and the seizure of assets, companies and financial resources for over 129 million euros, for international drug trafficking, money laundering, abusive exercise of credit and tax fraud, which also affected Teramo (READ HERETHE). The investigation, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, had allowed the financiers of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of Milan to defeat an international network of drug traffickers active between Italy and Spain and reconstruct the methods of payment for drug consignments and laundering of illicit proceeds through an efficient “Chinese underground banking” system. In recent days, the financiers have seized, thanks also to the help of anti-drug dog units, 84 kilos of narcotics including hashish and marijuana, 4 luxury watches and more than €100,000 in cash and arrested one of the suspects in flagrante delicto. The evident disproportion between the income declared by the latter and the standard of living revealed during the search, from the furnishing accessories present in the house to a collection of over 9,000 bottles of fine wine (the most valuable bottle was found to have a list price of €15,000) with an estimated value of approximately €1.5 million, led investigators to delve deeper into the provenance of these goods. From the investigations carried out, further financial availability was identified in various bank accounts attributable to the suspect and a property in the province of Bergamo worth approximately €200,000.
