(ANSA) – PESCARA, JUNE 24 – Less than twenty-four hours after the brutal murder which occurred in the Municipality of Pescara, the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security was held in the afternoon, convened by the prefect Ferdani, during which some specific profiles on the dynamics of the crime were examined. The prefect thanked the police forces and in particular the State Police for the activity carried out which allowed the alleged perpetrators of the crime to be identified very quickly. In the Committee meeting, the progress and results of the ordinary and extraordinary checks arranged in the sensitive areas of the city shared in the previous Committees were taken into account, in which it was decided to increase the number of police forces and control activities and surveillance of the area.
This strengthening, implemented both through coordinated services by the State Police, the Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza and the Local Police, and on the basis of the institutional services arranged independently by the individual forces, has been underway for some time in as the issue of security is continually brought to the attention of the Committee and is monitored by the Prefecture, the Police Force and the Municipality. In today’s meeting, the maximum intensification of the general prevention action throughout the city was agreed, with extraordinary services by the Special Departments of the Police Forces aimed at preventing and combating the illegal trade of drugs and the possession of substances illegal activities as well as to further strengthen the activities and number of the Police Forces thanks also to the reinforcements ensured for the summer period by the Ministry of the Interior as part of the plan to strengthen the summer surveillance services. These activities, as agreed during the Committee session, will be further carried out by all the competent authorities, through the valorisation and strengthening of every activity useful for achieving an ever better liveability of the city. The meeting chaired by the prefect was attended by the mayor of Pescara, the police commissioner, the provincial commanders of the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza together with the commander of the Local Police of Pescara.
