Comicon International pop culture festival, “is a cultural project born over twenty years ago to give voice and visibility to comics. Today, with the great success of Naples and the extraordinary result of the second edition of Bergamo, together with the artistic exhibitions held in Italy and in the world, Comicon confirms itself at the top of the ranking of cultural and entertainment events at a national level, with relationships and projects of international quality”.
This was stated by Claudio Curcio, president of Comicon, recalling the record numbers of the latest editions of the comics exhibition: 175 thousand attendances in Naples and 35 thousand in Bergamo (+25% compared to 2023).
“Comicon Bergamo – continues Curcio – confirmed the quality and format that characterize the appeal of the Neapolitan edition, with a central hub at the fair, and an artistic program full of appointments with exhibitions, meetings with authors and artists, capable of also contaminate the host territory with a special cultural offer, such as the Tanino Liberatore exhibition open in the city, in Bergamo, until October”.
Carlo Cigliano, CEO of Comicon, highlights that “in 2024 we satisfied 210 thousand visitors who were able to enjoy events, exhibitions, performances and exhibition offerings in Naples and Bergamo. A challenging job carried out by a team of around 50 girls and boys who , throughout the year, collaborate in the success of one of the most important cultural and entertainment festivals in Italy and in the world. The Comicon network consolidates itself as an artisan laboratory that fascinates Italy and abroad with innovative projects for pop culture and artistic entertainment” In the month of October Comicon will be in South Korea to represent Naples, Campania and Italy at the Bicof (Bucheon international comics festival), after the twinning which allowed Comicon Naples to host artists , exhibitions, food culture and Korean events. But the organizers are already looking forward to 2025, when there will be celebrations for the XXV edition of Comicon Napoli (1-4 May) and the III edition of Comicon Bergamo (20-22 June).
