Valdostana coach Davide Pellegrino is no longer coaching the team. The 55-year-old coach from Aosta has communicated to the club his inability to continue the collaboration due to work reasons. The team, under his management, achieved the double championship of Serie D-Coppa Piemonte di C2 and D in the first year and the semifinals of the play-offs of C2 and Coppa Piemonte di C2 and D in the second.

“We are sorry for the interruption of the relationship with mister Davide Pellegrino, a serious, professional person with a lot of passion, but, unfortunately, his work commitments did not allow the continuation of the collaboration – comments the president of Valdostana, Walter Pizzurro -. We immediately found an understanding with him that led us to prestigious goals and the doors are wide open for him in the future, if the situation allows it. We thank him for the work he has done and wish him all the best, until 2 years ago we did not know him, but, as a dear friend of mine says, strangers are the friends we do not know yet. Goodbye friend”.

“My dad, in addition to passing on to me his passion for sports, taught me that in a group the example always comes from the top, to succeed it takes time and time, unfortunately (but also fortunately, given that I have the privilege of doing the job I love), my work leaves me very little – says Davide Pellegrino -. I leave Valdostana with a heavy heart after two wonderful seasons, full of satisfaction, strong emotions and bonds that will always remain in my heart. I say goodbye to a strong, cohesive, ambitious group, that still has a great desire to win and I am convinced that the future has in store for the red and black colors the satisfactions that a solid, courageous, structured company with clear ideas deserves. When a circle closes and you have been allowed to contribute to drawing it, it is right to say thank you and in this case the list is long.

Thanks to President Walter Pizzurro, a point of reference that is always present, who chose me, waited for me and supported me in difficult moments. Thanks to the sports director (and in the final part of the second season my deputy) Beppe Spanò, who came to retrieve me from the trunk of unused things and had the patience to convince me, support me and put up with my terrible temper. Thanks to all the management staff, above all Michele Petrarota, simply much more than a manager. Thanks to Tony Guerrisi, a man of sport with whom you understand each other with a look. Thanks to Massimiliano Sicheri, our golden hands on the muscles of the boys in home games. Thanks to Giorgio Ioppolo, a friend and an excellent athletic trainer. Thanks to our passionate fans (with the heads of the ultras Romina and Paola at the forefront) for the warmth with which they followed us.

And, last but not least, thanks to all the players, from the first to the last, there are too many to be mentioned, so I choose Virgilio Mura, a great captain, but, above all, a real man, with a straight back, from whom I have received so much and to whom I have not been able to give the same back: his example, on and off the pitch, has allowed us to always see clearly the path to follow to win a lot and to go and get two discipline cups, awards that have made me even more proud of the group I led. It was an honor to be the first to sit on the Valdostana bench: coaches, like players, pass, realities founded on healthy values remain and for this reason I am sure that those who come after me will continue to write beautiful pages in the history of the club”.
