When Paride Vitale decided to dedicate a book to Abruzzo, his homeland, perhaps he didn’t imagine that “D’amore e d’Abruzzo” would climb the charts, surpassing travel guides dedicated to international destinations such as Japan and New York.
The success of the book published by Cairo is a clear sign of the growing interest in this rich Italian region natural and cultural beauties.
Vitale says that the idea of writing the book was born from the desire to share the treasures of Abruzzo not only with his fellow citizens but also with friends who, visiting the region, asked him for advice on what to see and where to eat. The author describes the creative process as a “river in flood”, underlining how natural it was for him to talk about his land.
Childhood in Abruzzo: green memories and incredible adventures
Born in Castel di Sangro and raised in Pescasseroli, Vitale paints his childhood with vivid colours: the greenery of the Abruzzo National Park, the walks in the mountains, his first entrepreneurial experiences by organizing nocturnal bonfires. These experiences laid the foundation for his future career in the world of events.
The transfer to Bologna for the university marked a turning point in Vitale’s social life. Far from Abruzzo, he discovered new interests and ways of socializing. However, his love for his native land remained strong, so much so that he missed it during his years in Bologna.
Today resident in Milancarries out various projects related to Abruzzo such as the Parco1923 brand and the commitment to promoting tourism in the region through cultural events. Vitale underlines the importance of promoting qualitative rather than quantitative tourism.
Vitale also addresses delicate issues such as the rebirth of L’Aquila afterwards the 2009 earthquake through personal anecdotes and concrete examples he demonstrates the resilient spirit of the Abruzzo people. Despite the success achieved with “D’amore e d’Abruzzo”, the boy does not consider himself ready for a second part, but does not rule out anything for the future. In the meantime he dedicates himself to promoting his current work by visiting small towns and villages in Abruzzo.
