“Livorno al Centro”, the three-day art and culture festival begins

The festival returns for its ninth edition “Livorno in the Center”organized by the cultural association Riki with Municipality of Livorno And Goldoni Theater Foundationfor the artistic direction of Riccardo Della Ragione. From Friday 28th to Sunday 30th June around 30 events – completely free – including shows, exhibitions and conferences will well embrace 15 city spaces involving over 100 artists (click here to read the complete program). The aim of the initiative, as every year, is to relaunch the city ​​center and the cultural talents of Livorno.
“A very rich journey – explains Della Ragione – accompanied this year by an exceptional unscheduled event: the award ceremony of the Palio Marinaro. When the mayor and the president of the organizing committee Michele De Martino they proposed it to me, I didn’t even think about it for a second, also because the spirit of the event is precisely that of sharing and networking with other local entities. For this I sincerely thank the traders who always have the right attitude; no one looks at who does more and who does less, but everyone is committed to doing their best.”
“When a product – he adds the culture councilor Simone Lenzi – arrives at the ninth appointment, it is obvious that we are talking about something consolidated. We are very pleased to have managed to carry it forward despite being between two legislatures, we reasoned on the principle of administrative continuity, anticipating the organization of events that anyone would find themselves with. I really like the idea that we are talking about a widespread event, which embraces the whole city and not a single place, which arises from the bottom through traders and which allows us to shine a light on local talents”.
Also for the 2024 edition there will be no shortage of festival gold medals awarded to Sofia Debora Fuscovery young writer and Giorgio Niccolai, internationally renowned linesman. “Many people from Livorno – concludes the administrative director of the Goldoni Theatre Mario Menicagli – they were successful in the world but not in the city. This is the opportunity to celebrate them and Riccardo does not lack the obstinacy to do so”.
