The counting of the municipal elections in Perugia has begun (THE SPECIAL – REAL TIME UPDATES). The challengers are Vittoria Ferdinandi (broad centre-left) and Margherita Scoccia (centre-right). The citizens of the Umbrian capital were called to the polls again, on Sunday 23 and Monday 24 June 2024, after no candidate had managed to win the seat of mayor in the first round (ALL ADMINISTRATIVE RESULTS).
How it went in Perugia in the first round
In the first round of the municipal elections, last 8 and 9 June, five candidates presented themselves: Vittoria Ferdinandi, nominated Knight of Merit of the Republic in 2021, obtained 49.01% with the support of the Pd, M5s, Alleanza lists Verdi Sinistra, Pensa Perugia (with the symbols of Action, Socialists for Perugia, Perugia in Europe and Laboratorio Civico) and from the civic lists Orchestra per la Vittoria, Anima Perugia and Perugia for public health. Behind her Margherita Scoccia (FdI), architect and current councilor for urban planning with 48.29%. Supporting her are Fratelli d’Italia, Lega, Forza Italia, Fare Perugia, Perugia Civica, Progetto Perugia, Futuro Giovani, Perugia Amica and Udc. Also in the running were Massimo Monni, who reached 1.4%, Davide Baiocco who stopped at 0.76% and Leonardo Caponi who obtained 0.54%.
