Unstable and variable climate in Italy due to the presence of a low pressure vortex positioned along the Tyrrhenian Sea which will favor rains and thunderstorms in the coming days. Not only are temperatures decreasing, they will drop by as much as 10-12° with values returning close to normal almost everywhere. Here is the weather forecast for the week.
Weather, rain and thunderstorms in Italy and temperatures dropping sharply
The last week of June is in the sign of bad weather with rains and showers which will affect a large part of the Central-Northern regions with strong thunderstorms and storms. Temperatures are also decreasing, dropping by -10/12° compared to recent days with values close to normal and in some cases even lower than the climatic norm. From Thursday 27 June the situation will improve with the return of the sun and an increase in temperatures, but be careful for the weekend, a new disturbance is expected to arrive in the northern regions.
But let’s go into detail with them forecast for Monday 24 June: clear or slightly cloudy skies in the South with some cloud cover in Sicily. In the Centre-North, alternating clouds and rain with intense phenomena in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy and Veneto. Maximum temperatures are decreasing with values almost everywhere close to normal. For Tuesday 25 June still unstable weather with the risk of showers and thunderstorms from the early hours of the morning in the North, but the bad weather will also affect Calabria and Sicily and much of the Centre-North. Temperatures are stable with values still below average in the Northern regions.
The weather trend for the next few days in Italy
The central part of the last week of June is marked by effects of disturbance n.9 of the month which brought rain and showers to the central-northern regions and then moved towards the Balkan Peninsula, thus allowing climate instability to ease. Wednesday 26 June more thunderstorms in the northern regions, along the Adriatic ridge of the Apennines and up to the Lucanian sector and northern Puglia. Not only that, rain and showers cannot be ruled out even between Lombardy and the North-East regions. Stable and sunny weather on the middle and lower Tyrrhenian side, on Calabria and the major islands.
From Thursday 27 June a is expected improvement across the country with the risk of some short and isolated showers in the afternoon along the eastern Alpine and pre-Alpine sectors. The forecast for the weekend is still uncertain although Italy should still be climatically split in two: bad weather in the North due to the arrival of the disturbance n.10 of the month and hot in the South due to the presence of the African anticyclone which will kick off the third heat wave of the summer. Expected temperatures of up to 40° in the South with extreme peaks of up to 45° and a little further between Calabria and Sicily.
