«Professions and historical activities of Brindisi», book by Giovanni Membola – Agenda Brindisi

THE BOOK – «Professions and historical activities of Brindisi» collects stories of commercial and artisan businesses, families and local life, with the aim of celebrating the past and enhancing the future of the Brindisi community. The book is a tribute to the industriousness and ingenuity of the people of Brindisi, who over the years have been able to adapt to the challenges of the time and enhance the excellence of the territory. Through the stories of the protagonists, the author conveys to us the passion and dedication that animated these professions and invites us to reflect on their intrinsic value and their role in the construction of collective identity. The volume represents a work of great historical and cultural value, which is aimed at all those interested in knowing and deepening the history of Brindisi and its traditions. It is an invitation to rediscover the roots of the city and to enhance the intangible heritage which represents a precious legacy to be preserved and handed down to future generations.

THE AUTHOR – Giovanni Membola, born in Brindisi in 1964, is a well-known scholar of local history and has collaborated for years with the weekly “Il 7 Magazine”. As a member of the Brindisi section of the Società di Storia Patria per la Puglia, he has published numerous essays dedicated to the historical events that characterized the city. He is the author of the historical-tourist guide “Brindisi” (Mondadori Electa, 2006) and founder of the city’s first website, Brindisiweb.it, online since 1995.
COLLABORATION AGREEMENT – The event is part of the collaboration agreement between the Brindisi Bibliomuseale Center and the Brundisium.net Cultural Association, aimed at promoting culture and enhancing local history, traditions and talents.
