False diplomas and false service certificates to be able to participate in the competition for the hiring of ATA school staff (administrative, technical and auxiliary; often these are janitors). The Treviso Financial Police reported 25 people from the province of Salerno accused of ideological falsity committed by a private individual in a public act, at the end of investigations coordinated by the Treviso Prosecutor’s Office. The operation is a follow-up to a previous major investigation, the «101 cum laude» operation, which three years ago made it possible to identify numerous false documents and certificates obtained in “diploma factories” in Salerno. Documents and certifications which had allowed, in that case, to ascertain that over 100 people had obtained jobs in schools in northern Italy by presenting professional qualification diplomas with a mark of 100 cents.

The financiers, by cross-referencing the data with the results of the investigations by the Nocera Inferiore Prosecutor’s Office, revealed the position of 25 candidates, accused of having falsely certified that they had served, for several months, at these schools, therefore benefiting from extra scores useful for illicitly overriding, in the general ranking, the candidates who had declared qualifications actually obtained. An illicit practice which allowed Salerno residents, in the two-year period 2018/2020, to work as school collaborators at various schools in the Treviso area. At the moment the termination of the employment contracts has already been established for the 25 but they will then also have to defend themselves in criminal proceedings for ideological falsity in a public document. The penal code for this crime provides for a prison sentence of up to two years.
