After two long weeks of bureaucracy, necessary for all the counts of the electoral office and for the definitive proclamation of the elected members of the new municipal council, in Corigliano-Rossano the highly confirmed mayor Flavio Stasi thanked the city with three rallies, the last of which last night at the Palmeto di Schiavonea. On stage, all the past and present councilors, all the outgoing councilors and the staff animators. Under the stage, once again, thousands of people celebrating the extraordinary electoral result which silenced the arrogance and infinite arrogance of the parasite who is in charge of the Region and believed he could win with swindles, promises and blackmail and ‘he returned to Reggio (because that has now become his… home) with his hands in the bag.
Flavio Stasi spoke only for a few minutes, making clear his desire to start working to continue to make the city progress: “The electoral campaign – said the mayor – was just a passage, a mending job after 5 years of hard work. But seeing that electoral result was wonderful, also because it was not at all obvious that the full squares would correspond to the real votes. I wanted with me the 12 councilors who have shared the government of the city with me in the past 5 years to express my heartfelt thanks to them because they were close to me even when not everyone liked me or when some of my choices were not understood and the my work was not yet appreciated as it is now.
From today we are putting ourselves to the test again: we are now celebrating the 65% of the votes we have won but in a few hours we will be given an immense responsibility: from today we govern and we want to be ready.” The fireworks seal another magical night. Corigliano-Rossano has remained free and is ready to grow further to act as a guide for all of Calabria, still in the hands of the worst politics of the last thirty years.
