Those nostalgic for the roundabout: “Line moved, needs to be reopened.” The “desperate people” at the San Lazzaro roundabout now loudly want it back: “Reopen it, please!”.

Dozens of social appeals from motorists from Viterbo on the verge of a nervous breakdown, who since the beginning of the experiment (introduced on 3 June by the Municipality) have posted the snake of cars queuing up which is forming more and more often, especially in the hours of tip, two and a half kilometers further on the Cassia Nord, at the Città dei Papi shopping centre. In fact, anyone who is forced by the new experimental road system to get there, to go back – perhaps to shop at the San Lazzaro shopping center or to visit the dearly departed at the cemetery – must take the next roundabout.

Experimentation has shifted the problem

In short, the experimentation wanted by the Municipality, according to the experience of many drivers from Viterbo, especially those who often pass through those parts for work reasons, has only moved the problem of traffic jams to the northern exit of the city from a shopping center to the other. “They have solved the problem of the cemetery roundabout but now they will have to solve that of the Mondo Convenienza roundabout”, Anna Rita F.’s disconsolate post on the Viterbo Civica Facebook page.
