Bad weather: in Emilia-Romagna the orange state of alert for thunderstorms, landslides and flooding of watercourses comes into effect at midnight today. It therefore concerns the entire day tomorrow, Monday 24 June. The bulletin was issued by the regional agency for territorial security and civil protection, based on Arpae forecast data, and is valid until midnight on June 25th.
I am persistent rains expected in the area which will intensify first on the plain along the Po; then, they will extend and become more abundant, in particular between the provinces of Bologna, Reggio Emilia, Modena and Parma; Between 30 and 45 millimeters of rain are expected over the 24 hours, with higher peaks of up to 80-100 millimetres.
They will be possible widespread runoff phenomena, landslides on fragile slopes and rapid rises in hydrometric levels, with possible occupation of the expansion zones of the mountain watercourses in the central sector of the Region and exceeding threshold 2, in particular for the tributaries of the Rhine. all other regional waterways, however, are expected to exceed threshold 1.
In the first part of the day, the rains will be associated with thunderstorms, even of strong intensity, especially in the central-eastern sector and the Apennine areas. Furthermore, limited beach erosion phenomena cannot be ruled out due to the rise of wave motion, which could reach 2 meters in height.
The Agency for territorial security and civil protection, in close collaboration with Arpae Emilia-Romagna, the evolution of the bad weather will be monitored and the regional operations center will remain open 24 hours a day.
