Public works, 63 million at stake – L’Aquila

AVEZZANO. The 2024/2026 budget adjustment, the regulation for the Urban center of Avezzano and the extension of the concession for the construction and management of the expansions of the five municipal cemeteries, are among the twelve points on the agenda of the next municipal council convened for Tuesday 25 June, at 4pm, by the president of the city council Fabrizio Ridolfi. Already fired by the council, the general budget adjustment for 2024/2026 ends with a cash fund of over 21 million and 700 thousand euros. «The adjustment», explains the president of the Budget Commission, Lucio Mercogliano, «is the legal-accounting tool that allows local authorities to update their budget estimates with respect to greater or lesser revenues and in light of new economic scenarios that have occurred during the year. It should be underlined that the various changes to the budget approved during 2024 did not disturb the budget balances in the slightest, which were preserved both with regards to the management of competence and with regards to the management of residuals and of cash. In three years, for public works”, continues Mercogliano, “a total of almost 63 million euros will be invested, including construction sites, new schools, new sports and social spaces, roads, projects, maxi works and redevelopments”. Among the major revenues to highlight are the over 107 thousand euros from the Solidarity Fund intended mainly for kindergartens and the support of students with disabilities, and the 57 thousand euros obtained from regional law number 10 for the support of the city’s major sporting events. And again the 261 thousand euros allocated to the Stadio dei Marsi for the energy improvement of the structure and for the creation of paths and accesses dedicated to people with disabilities. Among the lines of the settlement, there is also 450 thousand euros more, deriving from the in-depth work of ascertaining and recovering the underground economy, ferreting out tax evaders. Finally”, the Municipality specifies, “starting this year the new urban hygiene service has been launched, which will become fully operational by the month of October. By the summer, however, the work on the reuse center will be completed”, the completion of which is already significantly behind schedule. (fdm)
