For the second round of the local elections at 7pm 26.76% of those entitled to vote had voted. This is what emerges from the Interior Ministry data published on the Eligendo portal and which refers to over half of the 3,586 overall sections relating to voting in 102 municipalities throughout Italy. In the same sections at 12pm on Sunday 9 June, in the first round, the percentage of voters was 35.34%.

In Calabria the percentage is 25.11%, in the first round it was 36.02%. Here is the turnout in detail in the three municipalities called to the ballot: Montalto Uffugo 25.22% (36.44% in the first round), Vibo Valentia 23.71% (37.25% in the first round), Gioia Tauro 27.40% (33.37% in the first round).

The polling stations reopened their doors this morning at 7am and will close at 11pm and then reopen tomorrow from 7am to 3pm. The counting will start immediately afterwards.

The challenges in Calabria

There are three Calabrian municipalities in which the decisive match is being played between the mayoral candidates who remained standing in the first round.
