“In the overall degradation in which the city of Salerno finds itself, Piazza Vittime del Terrorismo stands out in Torrione. The garden, dedicated to the memory of the 3 state servants Antonio Palumbo, Antonio Bandiera and Mario De Marco, killed by the Red Brigades in 1982, looks like a corner of savannah in the city; the wall plaque that names the square in memory of the Salerno massacre is illegible and faded; on the adjacent wall there is even a writing complete with a five-pointed star which praises the Red Brigades in that very place.

It is an outrage to the memory of which the Municipality of Salerno does not realize and above all does nothing to erase the offense and restore the decorum that a place like this deserves. Given the total absence and sloppiness of the Municipality, I will present a parliamentary question also because it is very worrying that after over 40 years there are people who outrage and praise that sad season with impunity. Will they be too busy fighting the non-existent risk of fascism not to see the communists who still allow themselves to be nostalgic for the Red Brigades?”

This was declared by the Senator of the Fratelli d’Italia, Antonio Iannone, Member of Parliament of the Salerno College.
