Organizing the meeting with the delicacies of Sicilian taste in the heart of the city of Milazzo was an absolutely winning idea. Seeing it crowded with people full of life, noisy, with the desire to dance, sing and taste Sicilian food accompanied by modern rhythms, in that notoriously composed and silent Marina Garibaldi, well, we must say that it is truly enthralling towards involvement and light-heartedness . Milazzo changes, Milazzo appears even more beautiful with the desire to emerge from those now obsolete canons of a passive and sleeping city, where the lethargy of flat days, without ever building anything, makes one think of wasting moments of life that inexorably slip away. And instead embrace life in all its great beauty, sometimes even accompanied by simply tasting an arancino, a python, a cassatina or a Sicilian cannoli, with the sea behind you and the somewhat pandering moon that invites you to participate in the rhythm of music, means being in the midst of the common desire to unite, socialize, be inclusive for something that is never an end in itself, but gives the energy to project oneself towards that carefreeness that is therapeutic. Here, without wanting to philosophize too much about this cultural event called “Street Food Sicily on Tour”, promoted in Milazzo for the second consecutive year, we must give credit to the organizers for having centered the focus on how we couldn’t start living the summer better from Milan. This is just the aperitif, then comes lunch, snack and dinner, as metaphors of culture, leisure, fun guaranteed for all tastes, whether expressed by the young, the less young and the differently young. It is a Milazzo that changes thanks to the people themselves, beyond benevolent or oppositional political hindsights. So initiatives and experiences of life are welcome, such as the “Street Food Sicily on Tour”.
