Sicily, the first widespread four-yearly is born

The initiative started yesterday in Favara

A contemporary art odyssey to explore Sicily and its imaginative and poetic abilities that cross its territories. Organized by Farm Cultural Park, the art space and residence for artists in Favara, in the province of Agrigento; a first edition of the transdisciplinary Quadrennial which will spread across various locations in Sicily; among these, Aragon, Catania, Gela, Mazzarino and Butera.
Artists, photographers, architects, designers, set designers, video makers, social entrepreneurs, quantum physicists, jurists, creatives of different generations who were involved in the program to address central contemporary issues that are particularly felt on the island, such as that of the diaspora: beyond beyond all rhetoric, 560 thousand young people have left Sicily in the last ten years and this is a fact to keep in mind when talking about development models. The will of the Quadrennial is to reflect on identities and stereotypes, mafias and obtuse bureaucracies, nature and climate change, the condition of women and gender equality, always with attention to real data. And this is why the burst of hope of “We have everything” is balanced with the crudeness of “The rest is missing”, the two leitmotifs of the initiative. Yesterday afternoon in Favara, therefore, the first stop where the inauguration took place at the “Castello della Mostra Nuove Normalità” in which 70 designers told us about Italian architecture; the most interesting projects were rewarded. Among these also those of the Trapani Salvo Cusenza and Giuseppe Todaro.
