LEGNANO – «It is the twenty-fifth year of the Rugby Sound Festival: after the success of the previous edition we wanted to raise the level of the proposals even further.” As he explained today, Saturday 22 June, Fulvio De RosaDirector of Shining Productions, «if in 2023 more space was reserved for the urban genre, now there will be a lot of rock». The long-awaited summer event which, created with the contribution of the Lombardy Region and the patronage of the Municipalitywill begin on Thursday 27 June with i Subsonic and the DJ set of Röyksopp: «Sounds and artists that have accompanied the history of the event are returning with the creation of a more international cast and in particular the first time in Legnano by Cypress Hill and Placebo».
An extra week of events
As De Rosa underlined, «an extra week was added to the programming, thus reaching three weekends of shows; the technical part was also implemented and the structure of the stage improved. Without forgetting, among the new features, the introduction of electronic bracelets to recharge, which will allow you to overcome the queues. It is insured a wide choice of musical genreswhich will range from punk rock to dance, with always an important part of urban and attractive names that they have chosen Lombardy for their only date in Italy».
While lighter events are planned for the weekend, entirely dedicated to entertainment, the most “challenging” concerts will take place during the week. As for tickets, «at the moment it’s early and we can’t talk about sold out yet. Among all the dates there is a balanced distribution of an average of around four thousand sold, except for peaks of six thousand for two artists; however, the days close to the concerts could reserve surprises.”
The program
Less than a week left until the new Rugby Sound Festival starts, event born in 1999 as the end of season celebration of Rugby Parabiago. Having become a real point of reference for the events of the Italian summer, it brings great Italian and international music (and not only) to the Ialone of the Legnano Castle: there are fourteen appointments that will alternate between June and July.
After the departure scheduled for Thursday with the return of Subsonica, and opening of the evening with the DJ set of the Norwegian Röyksoppwe will continue on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th with the parties respectively Never Say Goku and I Want to Go Back to the Nineties while on Sunday 30 June i. will take to the stage Die Antwoord and Cosmo.
Monday 1st the alternative rock of Placebo will open the July dates with Virgin Radio as the official radio of their live at the Rugby Sound Festival; the hardcore legends will follow on Tuesday 2nd Suicidal Tendencies and Agnostic Front. Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th will be the turn of hip hop respectively with the partnership of Coez & Frah Quintale and the rapper from the province of Varese Maximum Danger. On Friday 5th the roots rhymes and the Rastafarian message return with the reggae of Alborosie and his band Shengen Clan. Zarro Night Saturday 6th with The Payer and DJ Matrix while Sunday 7th will be dedicated to cartoon theme tunes with Cristina D’Avena and Gem Boy.
Thursday 11th Punk In Castle evening where they will perform Punkreas, Derozer and Vallanzaska, three bands that made the history of the genre in the Peninsula. Friday the 12th still raps with two of its most representative bands on a global and national level: the Californians Cypress Hill they will be anticipated by the Romans Frontal Assaults, which will feature Inoki Ness. Closing on Saturday 13 July with Albertino, Fargetta, Molella and Prezioso for Deejay Time Celebration, a party dedicated to the legendary radio program dedicated to dance music.
