The importance of a unitary vision for the design of cities. A discussion between professionals and representatives of the University and city institutions.
The Architect’s Festival returns after a year, the perfect opportunity to debate Catania and what can be improved in a city full of contradictions. The event, organized by the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Conservationists of the province of Catania, will be held on 24 June 2024 at the Etna headquarters of the Order (Largo Paisiello, 5 – Catania).
From 4pm Veronica Leone, acting president of OAPPC_CT (Order of Conservative Landscape Architects and Planners of Catania) and Eleonora Bonanno, president of FOAPPC_CT (Foundation of Catania’s Conservatory of Landscape Architects and Planners Association) will speak for institutional greetings, followed by a round table moderated by Maurizio Spina (Associate Professor of Town and Country Planning, DiCAr – Di3A). Participating in the discussion will be Enrico Trantino (mayor of the city of Catania and the Metropolitan City), Francesco Priolo (rector of the University of Catania), Irene Donatella Aprile (superintendent for the Cultural and Environmental Heritage of Catania), Giovanni Laudani (director of the Etna Regional Park), Gaetano Laudani (chief engineer of the Civil Engineering Department of Catania), Salvo Lizzio (regional director of the Infrastructure and Transport Department), Francesco Di Sarcina (president of the Port System Authority of Eastern Sicily Augusta – Catania), Nico Torrisi (CEO of SAC), Filippo Palazzo (FS Commissioner for major works), Salvatore Cocina (General Manager of the Civil Protection Department), Paolo La Greca (City Councilor for Urban Planning of the city of Catania).
The conclusions will be entrusted to Veronica Leone (acting president OAPPC_CT). From 8pm, Apericena on the terrace: live music with Lua Nova.
