The Avellino basketball panorama becomes interesting for a season 2024/2025 very compelling indeed. Not just there DelFes in A2, but also Scandone with very ambitious intentions. He not only says Trasente when he talks about the club’s desire to improve last season’s result, but he makes it clear when he says the name of Emilio De Vizia. «I want to thank him for being at our side last season, and then confirm his commitment in the next season too».
The name De Vizia combined with Scandone takes a leap back in time. At the moment it has not yet been established whether or not it will be the main sponsor, but the presence of the Avellino entrepreneur, leader in his sector, is an economic guarantee. Not only. Apparently De Vizia he not only has the intention of contributing to this championship, but there is the intention of creating a group of entrepreneurs who can make an economic contribution to the president’s company so as to allow it to rise rapidly.
A pool of local companies which apparently also includes names that have passed through Scandone in the past, also holding top positions. A bit of an old obsession of De Vizia, a basketball enthusiast and friend of Sanfilippo, who had already been trying to set up a similar discussion for a few years, but then events did not allow some situations to develop and they ended up giving up. Now, however, the situation could change, because an ambitious Scandone and a Serie A2 already present in the city could and should inevitably lead to something concrete with the current DelFes.
Maybe not to be done in the short term, but in the long term. Trasente himself confirms in his press conference that he has a good relationship with Giuseppe Lombardi and like his colleague he does not veto dialogue to achieve collaboration. However, as coach argued Sanfilippo, “corporate due diligence has always been complicated, let alone when basketball clubs, which do not produce any profit, join forces.” It takes two to have weddings and for now there is a bit of distance, but this does not mean closure.
At least for now, everyone goes their own way, because it is also right to get involved by continuing your own projects, to gain some further satisfaction by demonstrating, as DelFes did, that results can be achieved with enthusiasm, energy and commitment. Behind the scenes, not in the open, discussions will inevitably continue and if there is a desire to create a project, the interest of enthusiasts will be taken into account.
The dialogue will take place, it will continue throughout the year, we are certain of this, in doing so we will also take into account the people of basketball, who ask for a single flag and we know ‘vox populi, vox dei’. In the meantime, however, fans can only watch an A2 Series with 20 teams and many historic squares and an Interregional B with a Scandone team that, perhaps with the name De Vizia, will aim to win the tournament.
