Prof Giuseppe Micocci leaves Einaudi. Greetings from colleagues

It’s not a retirement, but it’s still a goodbye. Giuseppe Micocci, born in Botrugno (Lecce), in 1972, left the IIS “L. Einaudi “of Cremona – where he taught for twenty-one years, in the competition class B020 (Food and wine services laboratories, kitchen sector) -, and returns to Puglia, to the IISS” M. Perrone” of Castellaneta. Since, as they say in Scholastic dialect, “the transfers began”, for Giuseppe, from Salento by origin and Cremonese by adoption, there has been an incessant succession of declarations of esteem and affectionate and exciting surprises, one of which – a few days ago -, even in favor of cameras. In the last teachers’ meeting, the thanks of the manager Nicoletta Ferrari was accompanied by thunderous collective applause in honor of a special person and a passionate professional, who was able to demonstrate and convey to the students his love for the culinary art.

To greet their tireless colleague, some teachers, Micocci’s closest friends – the “aMicocci” – organized a dinner in a pizzeria, which was also attended by the vice-principal Federica Gaboardi. The gift, accompanied by a nice note, written in the form of a circular, was a trolley, which many hope can be used by Giuseppe, for some pleasant trips to Cremona, the city where the adventure of the volcanic professor began by chance , way back in 2003. Thanks to him, the school in via Bissolati has enriched its medal list with victories in various national contests. Only in 2023/2024, Micocci taught both the day and evening courses, was the curriculum coordinator, and collaborated in orientation activities and initiatives related to the PNRR.

Giuseppe worked tirelessly in the city’s flagship events (the Salami, Nougat, Cheese Festivals, BonTà, etc.), in which he performed, with his students, in his famous show cooking. Prof curated gastronomic programs on TV, to highlight the most talented students and the entire institute, organized meetings and training sessions with renowned chefs and successful former students, rolled up his sleeves in the refreshments to offer to the authorities, in occasion for special occasions and anniversaries. After all, his motto has always been: “At your disposal”. For sure, Micocci will be missed and it will not be easy to collect such a rich legacy to continue along the line he traced. Everyone is grateful for the part of the road traveled in his company and wishes Giuseppe beautiful experiences, great satisfaction and the achievement of new, important goals.
