Campi Flegrei eruption risk: reception planning in Basilicata

The meetings continue at the Prefecture of Potenza

Planning work continues for the reception of the population in the event of a volcanic eruption at the Campi Flegrei, with the involvement of the Basilicata and Calabria regions.

Yesterday, at the Prefecture of Potenza, the working group meetings continued to explore the thematic areas identified by the regional Civil Protection Plan. This plan, approved by the Basilicata Region with DGR n. 303 of 18 April 2024, is dedicated to the transfer and reception of the population of the Bagnoli district, Municipality 10 of the Municipality of Naples, twinned with the regions of Basilicata and Calabria in case of risk of volcanic eruption.

After an initial meeting dedicated to medium/long-term permanence, the subsequent working groups addressed issues relating to accessibility and mobility infrastructures, as well as hubs and initial reception areas.

The meetings saw the participation of the territorial components of the national Civil Protection service and all the structures that will play an operational role if the procedures and intervention model envisaged by the plan are activated. During the presentation of the guidelines and coordination by the regional Civil Protection and the Prefecture of Potenza, useful points for reflection and analysis emerged.

The engineer Di Bello thanked all the participants for their active participation, their full availability and for the work they will be asked to carry out in the coming months.
