Public transport in Calabria: new announcements, but old unresolved problems

Announcements on the subject of transport follow one another, while old problems remain unresolved for years now. The latest news from the Calabria Region would be good (the conditional is a must in our latitudes), but from saying to doing… the department and its managers are involved!

We publish what has been released by the Calabria Region, hoping it corresponds to the truth.

The Council passed, on the recommendation of councilor Emma Staine, two important resolutions on welfare and transport.

In particular, as regards welfare, the guidelines for the drafting of “Life projects for people with disabilities” were accepted, to achieve the full integration of disabled people referred to in article 3 of the law of 5 February 1992 , n. 104, in the context of family and social life, as well as in the courses of school, professional and work education, which the Municipalities, in agreement with the local Health Authorities, to finance within the available resources and based on the plans of the area.

With the adoption of the resolutions relating to the transport sector, a rebalancing of the provision of urban public transport services was carried out, redistributing the services equally across the territories. With the second resolution, a program of additional public transport services for the July/September period was approved.
