PADUA | SUDDEN ILLNESS, VERA SLEPOJ DIES AT 70 – ANTENNA TRE

06/21/2024 PADUA – Sudden news that has left everyone speechless: Vera Slepoj has died at the age of 70. Our editorial team met her for an interview, perhaps among her very last, on June 8th. || The calm voice, the clear gaze. She welcomed us into her home from Padua, Vera Slepoj, for an analysis of the latest elections proposed during the electoral marathon by the director of the Medianordest group Luigi Bacialli. The lucid analysis of the citizens’ needs was her own. She had never feared confrontation, often stinging, on this occasion, she told us, she had imposed sobriety on herself. Her free voice was suddenly extinguished. An illness took her away at dawn on the first day of summer. She was right in Padua. The 118 health workers’ rush was in vain. 70 years old last May 3, Vera Slepoj was originally from Portogruaro in the Venetian area. She graduated in Padua in 1977 with a thesis on “deviance and the control mechanisms of a current society”. Psychologist and psychotherapist, Vera Slepoj taught at the University of Siena, she was president of the Italian Federation of Psychologists. She has numerous publications. Advisor to the Minister of Communications from 2002 to 2006, in Padua she was councilor for culture, museums and social services of the province from 1999 to 2004. A disillusioned view of current politics explained in her last interview which sounds like a legacy of hers. (Service by Chiara Gaiani)
