The Municipality of Corato has obtained a loan of 20,000 euros from the Puglia Region, aimed at strengthening and qualifying the tourist Info-Points. This result, the result of a joint participation with Unpli Puglia, entrusted with the management of the Info Point through the Pro Loco Quadratum Corato, represents a significant step for the tourist promotion of the city.
Participation in the tender required a considerable commitment on the part of the municipal offices in synergy with Unpli Puglia. The project successfully passed the formal and substantive verification phases, obtaining a sufficient score for eligibility for funding. The municipal administration expresses great satisfaction with this result, which marks a moment of relaunch for the Corato tourist Info Point, closed for four years and reopened last May 20th.
«We are intercepting all possible funding through a great synergistic work of administration and municipal offices which I thank. There is great excitement in the city in all sectors: from public works to cultural activities and promotion of the territory. We look far into the future by making the present grow”, says the mayor, Corrado De Benedittis.

«The success achieved with this financing is the result of a great effort on the part of our offices, who worked intensely to present a solid and well-structured project proposal. This financing will not only allow us to improve the services offered by the Info Point, but will also contribute to further enhancing our tourist and cultural heritage of the city”, reports Pippo Sciscioli, manager of the Culture Sector of the Municipality of Corato.
«As operators we are honored by this result obtained by our Municipality. We will work, with our volunteers, to ensure that the info point, especially in these summer months, is an important presence for residents and visitors, who will not only be able to obtain information on the activities, on the typical products and the producing companies, on the receptivity and welcome , but they will be able to participate in the initiatives that we will implement, also online with the other info points managed by Unpli Puglia in the regional territory”, declares Gerardo Strippoli, president of the Pro Loco Quadratum of Corato.
With this important milestone, the Municipality of Corato is preparing to improve tourist reception, offering quality services and detailed information to visitors, thus contributing to the development of local tourism.
