Three things that Ivan Juric left to Turin

Juric’s three years on the Turin bench come to an end

Ivan Juric is no longer the coach of Torino and a three-year chapter is coming to an end. A chapter that undeniably did not bring all the satisfactions hoped for: a promising first year was followed by a second of transition and a third full of contradictions. The sense of the unfinished, however, is accompanied by the feeling that something good has been built. Here are three things that Ivan Juric leaves behind for Torino, for better or for worse.

1 – THE IMPROVED PHILADELPHIA

Net of the sentimental and historical value of the place, for reasons of space, Philadelphia is not the ideal sports center for the needs of a Serie A team today. Ivan Juric, however, managed to make an impact from this point of view, pushing the club to make improvements that would also increase the appeal of the club as well as the quality of the daily work. In the basement under the main stand there are the necessary structures, the issue of the anti-espionage “sails” has been resolved once and for all from a technical point of view. Juric played a fundamental role in this, since the first inspection carried out in the first days of July 2021.

2 – A VALUE PLAYER PARK

Net of a couple of important contractual deadlines (see Rodriguez and Djidji), there is a player base that will certainly need to be strengthened to aim for Europe, but which is equally certainly large and made up of owned players who represent technical and economic in the hands of the club thanks to the undeniable ability to enhance individuals that the Croatian coach has demonstrated.

3 – THE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ENVIRONMENT

Ivan Juric didn’t get along very well with President Cairo and the fans, there’s no point in hiding it. In his three years at Toro he ended up arguing with many. Juric, someone with a smoking hot character to say the least, sometimes can’t stop himself and falls into wrong behaviors or statements that end up turning against him like a boomerang. The fact that he is left without a bench for the moment can be related to this. However, if the three-year period did not end with the hoped-for qualification for Europe, it is not for this reason, but rather due to limitations and errors relating to the technical plan. Furthermore, those who have followed Juric’s misadventures live for three years – and not just through the screen of a TV or smartphone – know that behind the rough and gruff appearance there is a sensitive, honest, integral person, who he knows how to self-criticize, as well as an impeccable professional.
