A dangerous road, often the scene of accidents. Via di Massa San Giuliano, in Castelverde in the 6th municipality, is now safer for pedestrians. The crossings were in fact created near the Amaldi high school. An intervention that comes after the inauguration, which took place in September 2023, of the crossings and sidewalks in the area of via Pedicciano and the Castelverde comprehensive institute.

Committees and citizens of the area have been asking for some time to make Via di Massa San Giuliano safe. A protest that became more vehement in March 2021 when an 11-year-old child was hit by a hit-and-run driver while crossing. a few days earlier, the volunteers of the Castelverde Committee had carried out an inspection with the then Capitoline councilor, Svetlana Celli, to take stock of the construction of the crossings and find a way to prevent accidents. A tool used to make pedestrians safe and to induce the speed of cars.

The new crossing was built at the Amaldi high school. A work that will allow “our boys and girls to reach school safely” wrote the school building councilor of the Torri, Chiara Del Guerra, in a note. “It has been a long journey, slowed down by various vicissitudes including the moving of the drains and the establishment of these new crossings by the police. What was important to us was to reach the goal and we did it.” Del Guerra thanked the president of the Capitoline Assembly, Svetlana Celli “who asked for funds in the budget”, the president Nicola Franco, Giovanni Raiola, and the councilor Antonio Muzzone.
“In an assembly with the Castelverde neighborhood committee in Rome, chaired at the time by Simone Casaccia, a specific request was made to us: to make Via di Massa San Giuliano safe given the many accidents that were occurring – wrote the PD councilor , Flavio Mancini – together with Svetlana Celli we have included funds in the Rome capital budget that have allowed the creation of multiple crossings, all close to schools. Satisfaction for having completed the last one, the one near the Edoardo Amaldi high school. We thank the municipal technicians for the work done and the citizens who have accompanied us up until today.”
