The mayor of Naples visits Avellino to support the candidacy of Antonio Gengaro, underlining the importance of a strategic and integrated vision for the relaunch of the territory
In a city full of expectations and tensions, Gengaro closed his electoral campaign with a final meeting with the population. In the company of Gaetano Manfredi, mayor of Naples and former rector of the University of Naples Federico II, the broad candidate met voters at the Jingle Gin Bar located on Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Avellino.
The former Minister of University and Research expressed his support, thanking those present, with words of encouragement for Gengaro and the whole city: «I am here to express my closeness and my support, not only personally but of our entire administration, for this great battle of civilization, democracy and renewal for Avellino. I know this city well and its political, cultural and entrepreneurial value»
Manfredi later underlined the importance of creating strong networks between the internal areas and the coast, highlighting how careful planning of investments can generate development and opportunities for local young people, avoiding depopulation «Our challenge is to build an important political perspective, a strategic vision that connects Avellino with Naples and other capitals, guaranteeing fast connections and a connection from an investment point of view»
The mayor of Naples, drawing attention to the opportunity to exploit the tourist boom of the Neapolitan city to attract visitors also to the internal areas, enhancing the food and wine and cultural offer of Avellino, then concluded by urging voters to make a great commitment in the last pre-election hours, convinced that with Gengaro at the helm it will be possible to build a new development horizon for the city.
Visibly moved, Antonio Gengaro thanked Manfredi and those present, effectively concluding the meeting with a declaration of affection for the city and its citizens «I am on the field for Avellino, for our young people, for our families and for those who experience difficult situations. We have a shared and credible program, built from the bottom, discussing with everyone in the neighborhoods. I will be the mayor of all the people of Avellino, even those who did not vote for me. This must be a united community”.
