Livorno – There are now much less than 24 hours left until the kick-off of the second edition of the “Benetti Trophy”, the sporting event reserved for the female Under 15 category and born in 2023 on the occasion of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the historic Benetti Shipyard: the awarding of the trophy will come at the end of a day entirely dedicated to women’s football, which will take place in the Mario Magnozzi stadium in Via Vittorio Emanuele Orlando n. 25 and which will see the participation of not only ASD Livorno Calcio Women, but also Genoa, Inter, Juventus, Lazio, Roma, Sampdoria and Spezia.
The aforementioned clubs have been divided into two Italian-style groups made up of four teams (in Group A, Juventus, Lazio, Livorno and Sampdoria will be involved; in Group B, Genoa, Inter, Roma and Spezia will compete) and will compete in three 30-minute matches, at the end of which the two best teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals: the matches in Group A will be played on Court 1, while the matches in Group B will be played simultaneously on Court 2; kick-off is scheduled for 9.30 am with Juventus-Lazio and Genoa-Roma and four finals have been scheduled to establish a real ranking from first to eighth place.
ASD Livorno Calcio Women has been included in Group A, will play their matches on Field 1 and will face, in order, Sampdoria (10.10), Lazio (10.50) and Juventus (12.10): if yes will rank in one of the top two positions in Group A, will enter the semi-final and eventual final; otherwise, it will compete with the teams remaining outside the first two places to obtain the best placing from fifth to eighth place.
The second edition of the Benetti Trophy is aligned both in favor of Asd Disabled People Rome 2000an association committed to spreading five-a-side football for the blind and which has had its own women’s team over the last year, and FOP Italia ONLUSan association which includes all the family members of people affected by fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva and of which the captain of Livorno Andrea Luci is a testimonial: during the day, FOP Italia ONLUS will receive a large symbolic check worth 500 euros from ASD Livorno Calcio Women, as a real contribution aimed at supporting the activities carried out by FOP Italia ONLUS itself.
