Vittoria Ferdinandi’s tour of Perugia: “The city was left alone”

The open-top bus accompanying Vittoria Ferdinandi on this last day of the electoral campaign also made a stop in San Sisto, at the Arcadia. The centre-left mayoral candidate spoke of a “Perugia that seems to me to be believing in it with all the passion, determination and great soul it has”. Joking with the numerous citizens present, Ferdinandi reiterated, “with what was left of her voice”, that she had chosen to cross all the squares of the city, to “restore to Perugia a policy that puts the citizens and the the city is with us and responds.” Many topics were touched upon during the stop in San Sisto. Among these is the aspect of participation and “of returning to giving places and tools to people that truly put them back at the center of the government of the territory, without simple promises of proximity and closeness”. For the centre-left candidate this “is something that has deeply touched a city that felt left alone”. You then spoke about the climate in which the electoral campaign developed. “Our political opponents come from a political culture that knows only the annihilation of the opponent, with a continuous campaign of exploitation. We were very good because we didn’t fall into their trap, we continued to talk about the terms of kindness and the future we want to design together with the city”. Regarding young people, Ferdinandi underlined that he felt “their fatigue, their broken dreams” due to “the idea that Perugia no longer represents an opportunity”. She recalled having listened a lot to “the voices of large and same-parent families, in which it becomes tiring even just to think of being able to afford a season ticket for a local public transport service which is among the most expensive and ineffective in Italy. The tour which started today from San Martino in Campo, is about to end at the Frontone gardens with the final event of this long and passionate tour through the city’s neighbourhoods.
