The Board of Calabria regionin today’s session, on the proposal of the president, Roberto Occhiuto, approved two institutional agreements signed with the extraordinary commissioner of Anas. One concerns the variant, on state road 106, of the itinerary of the new headquarters Catanzaro-Crotone from the Simeri Crichi junction, at km 17.020, to the Papanice junction. The other outline of agreement between Anas and president Occhiuto refers to the connection of Port Of Gioia Tauro South with the A2 motorway: 1 lot, from km 0 to km 900; 2 lot, from km 900 to km 2,297.

The Council approved the Regional Plan for the right to education

Upon indication of the vice president with responsibility for education, Giusi Princi, the Council approved the Regional Plan for the right to study for the 2024-2025 school year, implementing Regional Law 27/85. The Plan has a total value of 4.5 million euros to be allocated to specialist assistance activities, teaching aids and equipment for the inclusion of disabled students; contributions on meal vouchers for canteen service; expenses for residential services (boarding and semi-boarding schools), school transport, school activities in hospital, home education.

The total fund of 3,137,174.54 is assigned and paid directly by the competent regional department to the municipalities of the provinces of Catanzaro, Cosenza, Crotone And Vibo Valentiawhile 1,362,825.46 are assigned and paid to the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria which is responsible for the distribution in the Municipalities under its jurisdiction. The distribution of the fund is calculated 60% on the basis of the number of students residing in each Municipality of Calabria and 40% on the basis of the number of students with disabilities.

School sizing

Based on the resolution of Regional Council number 216 of 2023 approving the regional guidelines for the definition of school sizing, the school network for the 2024-2025 school year will be made up of 172 comprehensive institutes, 98 secondary schools, 9 all-inclusive institutes, 4 national boarding schools, 5 Provincial adult education centres. (CPIA).

The Plan will contribute to improving the quality and effectiveness of the regional education system by guaranteeing essential services and ensuring the right to study for all Calabrian students, especially the most disadvantaged and those living in particularly fragile conditions.

Therefore, in order to promptly respond to the needs of the Municipalities to plan and organize services for access and attendance to education, in compliance with the times foreseen for the start of the school year, the Region has taken steps to speed up the approval times of the Plan, so that, already by next September, the resources can be assigned to each municipal administration.

Furthermore, again on the proposal of the vice-president, the regulations on the methods of selecting professional figures for technical assistance activities to the Regional Council of Calabria were approved, through the expert database IT platform.

Important resolutions regarding welfare and transport

The Council then passed, on the recommendation of councilor Emma Staine, two important resolutions on welfare and transport. In particular, as regards welfare, the guidelines for the drafting of “Life projects for people with disabilities” were accepted, to achieve the full integration of disabled people referred to in article 3 of the law of 5 February 1992 , n. 104, in the context of family and social life, as well as in the courses of school, professional and work education, which the Municipalities, in agreement with the local Health Authorities, to finance within the available resources and based on the plans of the area.

Transport sector

With the adoption of the resolutions relating to the transport sector a rebalancing of the provision of urban public transport services was carried out, redistributing the services equally across the territories. With the second resolution, a program of additional public transport services for the July/September period was approved.

Social media policy approved

The executive, on the recommendation of the councilor for work and professional training, Giovanni Calabrese, also approved the Social media policya set of interactive tools for the use and management of the social pages of the Labor Department regarding active labor policies and the activity of the Employment Centers of the Calabria Region.

Social media will be used for institutional purposes, and in the general interest, for the relaunch of the Employment Centers and for active employment policies. The aim is to inform and promote the activities and services offered by the network of Employment Centers and the Regional Department. Furthermore, it is intended to facilitate access to the services offered and to active policy measures with a view to transparency and sharing.

The proposals on agriculture

Upon proposal of the councilor for agriculture, Gianluca Gallothe Guidelines and directions regarding the minimum quality requirements and standards and definition of the supervisory and control functions for the exercise of the activities have been approved wine tourism and oil tourism In Calabria.

Furthermore, the policy act for the establishment of the Regional Fund for the continuity and growth of agricultural businesses – Finagri Calabria – to be financed within the 2021-2027 development and cohesion fund was approved.

Business competitiveness fund

The council, then, on the recommendation of the councilor for economic development and cultural attractions, Rosario Varì, established the business competitiveness fund (fci), with a financial endowment of 30 million euros.

The resulting measure is aimed at small and medium-sized Calabrian businesses that want to invest to expand and modernize their activities and provides support for projects partly with a contribution to the fund and partly with a subsidized loan.

The agreement between the Calabria Region and the Department of Mathematics has been approved

Finally, on the proposal of the Councilor for Organisation, Human Resources and Digital Transition, Filippo Pietropaolo, the draft agreement between the Calabria Region and the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Calabria was approved.

With this agreement it is intended to regulate collaborative relationships on topics of common interest in the context of the digital transition, in particular in the field of analysis of the level of digitalisation and training aimed at those responsible for the digital transition of the Calabrian municipalities.
