There are around a hundred initiatives and projects starting up throughout the Apulian territory following the financing granted to the requests for participation approved within the second edition of the “Futura. Puglia for equality”, the initiative promoted by the Regional Council of Puglia which aims to support cultural projects aimed at raising awareness on the topic of gender equality.
Cultural and/or social promotion associations, foundations and businesses from Puglia, made up predominantly of women, have proposed their ideas to implement initiatives until December 2024 to undermine, through culture and creativity, gender stereotypes and impact awareness social and on overcoming the patriarchal culture that permeates our society.
Through the approved projects which include educational courses and creative workshops, events, exhibitions, conferences, but also theatrical and musical performances, this second edition intends to place women’s gaze on the world at the center to initiate a paradigm shift and orient communities towards a renewed vision of the future.
“We are satisfied with the numerous participations in this call, in which we strongly believe – states the president of the Regional Council, Loredana Capone. We have allocated 300 thousand euros to support initiatives, projects and events that can help create the cultural revolution necessary to break down gender stereotypes. Culture, through its various forms, can truly move consciences to eradicate the prejudices of a society that is still too patriarchal. We need to educate the new generations to respect differences because only in this way can we truly talk about equality and equal opportunities. With managerial resolution no. 181/2024 of the Library and Institutional Communication Section, the rankings of the applications admitted to the contribution, those that cannot be financed due to exhaustion of financial resources and those not admitted were approved, taking into account the degree of compliance of the initiative with the objectives of the notice, the cultural relevance and the concreteness of the proposed activities, the methods and times of implementation, the experiences gained in the sector and the characteristics of the partnership and the coherence, congruity and clarity of the budget with respect to the project activities.
The applications were received from the entire Apulian territory and this made it possible to prepare separate rankings for each province of the Region, ensuring a territorial distribution of the initiatives and reaching the greatest number of citizens, but also being able to finance more initiatives in the areas from which they are more requests were received, helping to strengthen existing networks and rewarding the commitment of those who promote awareness on this important issue.
The project ideas are financed for a maximum amount of 3,000.00 euros for events to be held in the Apulian territory from June to December 2024.
The notice is part of the institutional communication actions carried out by the Regional Council of Puglia aimed at the integral education of the citizen, managed by the Library and Institutional Communication Section, not only to disseminate and promote what the Regional Council achieves, but also to activate oriented projects to train and educate active citizenship.
