At the “Glauco Servadei” Velodrome in Forlì, on 20 June under a gray sky and a heat that never gave respite throughout the day, the “Michael Antonelli” Memorial took place, valid as the third round of the 2024 Superpistard Trophy.
The program included tests for the M/F Beginners, M/F Students and Junior categories. The day of racing began at 3pm with the 10-lap Tempo Race for the female students, the first test of the Omnium, and then concluded with the final of the points race for the Junior category. New for the day is the Madison test for Beginners and Students, a spectacular points race in which the teams are made up of 2 kids each who take turns taking turns for the entire duration. Further proof from the ASD Consortium of Romagna Cycling Societies of wanting to help children grow in all disciplines. At the end of the day’s competition, as usual, the ranking leader’s jerseys were awarded. The new face is that of Tassi Edoardo for the ranking of the orange jersey, Student category, who ousts Matteo Ghirelli from the top and takes first place. However, there is no news for the other rankings. Let’s summarize the 5 leaders after the 3rd day:

The winners were awarded by Martina, Michael Antonelli’s mother, and Mattia, the boy’s brother. They were joined by Maria Sberlati, president of the Elite Service team, who also wanted to remember in a touching moment Michael, a boy who passed away at the end of 2020, after fighting for more than 2 years, following a tragic accident in which he was involved on 15 August 2018. Together with them Dr. Roberta Mercuriali, the collaborators Paola Manni and Lara Schiavi from the Sports Office of the Municipality of Forlì.
